Objective: To help meet the basic needs of the community in Sade Traditional Village affected by the fire through the distribution of kitchen supplies and hygiene kits, in order to support food security and maintain community hygiene and health during the emergency response period, while also contributing to the gradual recovery and rehabilitation of the Sade Traditional Village area.
Challenges:
- A fire struck the traditional settlement area of Sade Traditional Village on Saturday evening, August 22, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m. WITA. According to a report from the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the exact cause of the fire was still under investigation at the time, and material losses were still being assessed.
- The impact of the disaster was extensive. The Central Lombok Regency Government recorded that approximately 120 households (±320 people) were affected, along with 75 traditional houses and 69 art shops (craft kiosks). Additionally, public facilities were damaged, including 1 mosque, 4 large berugak, 6 small berugak, 8 alang-alang granaries, 1 “bale beleq,” as well as several public restrooms for tourists and the gate to the Sade Traditional Village.
- The damage not only destroyed homes but also kitchen facilities, sources of livelihood (art shops), and the social and cultural spaces of the Sasak community, thereby disrupting both economic and cultural activities.
- The Sade area is characterized as a traditional settlement with historical and architectural value that must be preserved; therefore, the NTB Provincial Government emphasizes that the rehabilitation process must not alter the area’s original character, meaning post-disaster recovery efforts must be carried out with great care.
- During the emergency response phase, the community lost access to kitchen equipment and basic hygiene supplies, making the fulfillment of food, hygiene, and health needs an urgent priority.
Solution:
To address these challenges, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Jatimbalinus Regional Office (East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara), in collaboration with Filantra, implemented the Disaster Relief Program for the Sade Traditional Village Fire in Central Lombok. Aid was distributed on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM WITA—approximately seven days after the fire occurred. The aid consisted of two categories:
● Kitchen Supplies
16 types of kitchen equipment and supplies, including 12-kg Bright Gas cylinders (10 cylinders), two-burner gas stoves (10 units), regulator + stove hoses (10 units), steamers, pots, frying pans, spatulas, rice scoops, serving spoons, kitchen knives, cutting boards, and mixing bowls (10 each), as well as plastic plates, plastic bowls, plastic cups, and tablespoons (15 dozen each).
● Hygiene Kit
7 types of hygiene supplies, including towels (70 pieces), bar soap (5 boxes), shampoo sachets (5 boxes), toothbrushes (80 pieces), toothpaste (80 tubes), sanitary pads (5 boxes), and baby diapers (5 boxes).
Impact:
- The aid successfully reached 124 households or approximately 320 residents affected by the fire in the Traditional Village of Sade, in the form of kitchen supply packages and hygiene kits.
- Distribution was carried out on time, 7 days after the fire (August 22, 2026) ensuring the community received the aid during the emergency response phase when needs were most urgent.
- The kitchen supplies (16 types of cooking and dining utensils) helped the community restore their ability to prepare daily meals after losing their kitchen equipment in the fire.
- The hygiene kits (7 types of hygiene items, including items specifically for women and infants) supported the community in maintaining personal hygiene and health amid limited post-disaster facilities.
- A total of 73.2% of the funds were allocated directly for the procurement of aid, while the remainder was earmarked for distribution, marketing tools, program operations, and administrative costs.
- The aid handover process was officially documented through a Handover Report signed by a representative of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s East Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara Regional Office and the Head of Sade 1 Hamlet, as a form of accountability and transparency in the distribution of aid to the community.

The fire in the Sade Traditional Village affected residents’ homes and daily activities, making food security one of the basic needs that must be addressed during the emergency response period. The distribution of kitchen supplies is the program’s contribution to helping meet the food needs of the affected community.
● SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being
Post-disaster conditions can increase risks to public hygiene and health, especially when facilities and daily necessities are limited. The distribution of hygiene kits is the program’s contribution to supporting personal hygiene and the health of the affected community during the emergency response period.
Through the Post-Fire Recovery and Resilience Support Program for the Sade Traditional Village, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus, in collaboration with Filantra, is providing tangible support to the community of the Sade Traditional Village in Central Lombok, which was affected by a devastating fire in August 2026. The program not only focuses on meeting food needs through the distribution of kitchen supplies but also provides hygiene kits to support community hygiene and health during the emergency response period. Thus, the program is part of a collective effort to restore the community’s ability to meet daily needs, maintain health amid limited post-disaster facilities, and support the gradual recovery of the Sade Traditional Village area without compromising its cultural character and traditional architecture.
