Objective
The Flores Earthquake Disaster Social Assistance Program in East Nusa Tenggara Province, an initiative of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk aimed at supporting communities affected by the disaster, seeks to help meet the basic needs of earthquake-affected residents at four evacuation centers in Robek Village, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The program was implemented in collaboration with Filantra through the distribution of food and sleeping supplies to support the community during the emergency response and recovery phases.
Challenges
- On August 15, 2026, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck the East Nusa Tenggara region, with its epicenter near Nagekeo Regency, affecting several areas on the island of Flores. According to the BNPB Situation Report as of August 26, 2026, the earthquake resulted in more than 100 fatalities, 1,666 injuries, 180,327 displaced people, 73,818 damaged homes, and 1,915 damaged public facilities. Key challenges addressed by this program:
- Communities in evacuation centers require food assistance and basic relief supplies to meet their daily needs.
- Aftershocks continue to occur (7,029 recorded events through the 12th day of the emergency response), preventing many residents from returning to their homes.
- Aid must reach four relief posts with varying numbers of recipients (73 to 95 households per post) and be distributed according to the results of coordination and needs assessments in the field.
- Data and community needs on the ground are constantly evolving, requiring ongoing coordination and reassessments with relief post managers.
Solution
PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, in collaboration with Filantra, implemented this program on September 13, 2026. The aid was first handed over at the Pertamina Relief Center (Koramil 1612-02/Reok, Manggarai Regency) to Mr. Yogaswara, the logistics coordinator, and then redistributed to the four evacuation centers in Robek Village. The program provided:
- Food (basic necessities): 100 5-kg sacks of rice, 65 boxes of instant noodles, 46 cartons of eggs (30 eggs per carton), 71 boxes of 600-ml bottled water, and 15 boxes of cookies.
- Sleeping supplies: 45 blankets and 36 folding mattresses.
- Distribution to four shelters: The amount of aid distributed to each shelter was adjusted based on coordination and on-site needs assessments.
- Documentation and handover: A Handover Report (BAST) was prepared at each shelter, supported by photographic documentation of the loading process and the handover of aid.
Impact
- This program helped meet the basic food and bedding needs of the earthquake-affected community in Robek Village, including:
- 331 households (1,275 people) at four evacuation shelters in Robek Village received food and bedding supplies.
- The aid is expected to alleviate the burden of meeting the basic needs of affected residents during the recovery period at the evacuation shelters.
- Residents at all four locations welcomed the aid and expressed their appreciation and gratitude, as reflected in the testimonials from shelter representatives.
- All handover procedures were documented in a Handover Report (BAST) signed at each shelter.

Relevance to the SDGs
SDG 2: Zero Hunger (Zero Hunger)
In disaster situations, limited access to food can increase community vulnerability. By distributing rice, instant noodles, eggs, bottled water, and cookies to 331 households (1,275 people) at four evacuation centers in Robek Village, this program supports the fulfillment of basic food needs and temporary food security.
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
The availability of food, safe drinking water, as well as 45 blankets and 36 folding mattresses helps the community maintain their physical well-being and comfort while facing the emergency situation at the evacuation sites. Through this program, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, together with Filantra, provided tangible support to residents affected by the earthquake in Robek Village, Manggarai Regency, as part of efforts to support the health and well-being of the community during emergencies.
