PURPOSE : To help ease the burden on the community to fulfill their daily basic food needs.
CHALLENGES :
The price of a number of food commodities has been observed to rise since the beginning of 2023. Meanwhile, the
Market and Basic Needs Monitoring System (SP2KP) of the Ministry of Trade (MoT) noted that the prices of a number of food
commodities have jumped by more than 10% since the beginning of 2023. The price of medium rice skyrocketed 20.35% on November 2, 2023
compared to January 2, 2023. Then the price of premium rice has risen 15.27%, the price of sugar has jumped 11.89%.
The prices of wheat flour and bulk oil moved up, by 1.53% and 1.41% respectively. At the same time, the price of
curly red chili peppers skyrocketed by 37.86%, the price of red cayenne pepper rose by 11.88%, and the price of Honan garlic rose by 34.18%.
SOLUTION:
Basic Food Assistance activities for the community in the Central Jakarta area were carried out in August 2023 at Jl. Penjernihan 1, No.1 Karet Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. The Basic Food Assistance for the Central Jakarta Community was 1,559 packages. This assistance was given to 1,559 pre-prosperous families in the Central Jakarta area. With the assistance provided, it is hoped that it can ease the burden on the people in Indonesia to meet their daily needs.
The community was very enthusiastic and happy with the basic food assistance provided by PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. Because rice, cooking oil, sugar, instant noodles, and soy sauce are basic needs that must be met every day.
IMPACT:
The Community Basic Food Assistance Program in the Tanah Abang Area, Central Jakarta is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the 2nd SDG goal of Eradicating Hunger (Zero Hunger).
In the PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk Basic Food Package Assistance Program for the community in the Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta, the distribution of 1,559 basic food packages was carried out in June 2023. The basic food packages contain 5 kg of rice, 2 liters of cooking oil, 2 kg of granulated sugar, 5 pcs of instant noodles, and 2 bottles of 275 ml soy sauce.
With the assistance provided, it is hoped that it can ease the burden on pre-prosperous people in the Central Jakarta area so that no one will experience hunger and malnutrition. Thus this program is a concrete manifestation in supporting the 2nd SDGs goal of Eradicating Hunger (Zero Hunger).
