Spreading Hope Through Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s Emergency Response with Filantra for the Disaster-Affected Community in West Bandung

Objective: The objective of the Cisarua Landslide Disaster Relief program in West Bandung Regency is to assist the disaster-affected community by providing logistical aid and emergency necessities. This program also aims to support the fulfillment of the basic needs of the affected community and assist the post-disaster management process in the Cisarua area, West Bandung Regency.
Challenges:
In the process of managing the landslide disaster in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, several challenges were faced on the ground, both in the evacuation process, victim search, and meeting the needs of the affected community. These challenges include the following:
- High-intensity rainfall continues to flush the West Bandung Regency area, increasing the risk of subsequent landslides and complicating the handling process on the ground.
- Residential locations are situated on hilly slopes with a high landslide vulnerability, making the terrain difficult to reach and risky for the evacuation and victim search process.
- Soil material and rocks burying residential areas caused dozens of houses to suffer heavy damage and cut off environmental access at several points.
- Some affected communities had to evacuate to emergency posts at the Pasirlangu Village Office, causing an increase in the need for logistics and basic necessities.
- The evacuation and victim search process faced various obstacles, such as bad weather conditions, difficult terrain, and limited heavy equipment.
- The social and economic activities of the affected community were significantly disrupted due to the impact of the disaster.
Solution:
As a form of response to the landslide emergency conditions in Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, through the INDOSAT SIGAP (Emergency Response Ready) program, distributed various forms of aid to help fulfill the basic needs of the affected community and support the initial post-disaster handling process. The activity solutions carried out include the following:
- Distribution of ready-to-eat meal assistance to affected residents at the Main Evacuation Post of the Pasirlangu Village Office.
- Symbolic handover of assistance to the West Java Provincial BPBD as part of the emergency disaster response coordination.
- Visits to evacuation sites at the Pasirlangu Village Hall and Pasirlangu Village Sports Center (GOR) to interact directly with affected residents while distributing ready-to-eat meals and SIM cards to evacuees.
- Distribution of non-food logistical aid such as sleeping mats, hygiene kits, sanitary napkins, baby diapers, and mineral water through the Aid Collection Warehouse at the Pondok Indah Pasirlangu Volleyball Court.
- Providing Indosat and Three SIM cards to help maintain communication connectivity for affected communities with family and relatives during the emergency response period.
Program Impact:
The implementation of the INDOSAT SIGAP Cisarua Landslide Disaster Relief program in West Bandung Regency contributed to helping the disaster-affected community and supporting emergency response efforts in the region. The impacts of this activity include the following:
- Fulfillment of some basic needs of the affected community at the evacuation sites through the distribution of logistical aid and ready-to-eat meals.
- Support for the emergency response operations carried out by the local government and BPBD through coordinated aid distribution.
- Helping to alleviate the burden of affected residents at the evacuation posts in Pasirlangu Village.
- Maintenance of communication access for the affected community with family and relatives through the provision of Indosat and Three SIM cards.
- Receiving positive responses from both evacuees and officers involved in disaster management on the ground.
SDGs Relevance:
- SDG 2 – Zero Hunger This program supports the fulfillment of food needs for disaster-affected communities through the distribution of ready-to-eat meals and mineral water to residents at evacuation sites.

- SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure This program also supports communication access for affected communities through the distribution of Indosat and Three SIM cards, helping the community stay connected with family and obtain information during the emergency response period.
Strengthening Care, Bringing Hope Amidst Disaster

In the midst of the emergency situation due to the landslide that struck Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, fulfilling the basic needs of the affected community became a matter of extreme urgency. Through the INDOSAT SIGAP (Emergency Response Ready) Cisarua Landslide Disaster Relief program, logistical aid was distributed to help the community at the evacuation sites. Assistance in the form of ready-to-eat meals, mineral water, and various other basic needs was provided to support the survival of evacuees during the emergency response period.
Through collaboration with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Filantra opens a space for care and collective action in distributing aid for disaster-affected communities. Various logistical supports such as sleeping mats, hygiene kits, sanitary napkins, baby diapers, as well as Indosat and Three SIM cards were distributed to help meet the basic needs of residents in evacuation while maintaining their communication connectivity with family and relatives. This effort is part of a collective step in providing real support for the community currently facing a post-disaster emergency situation.
