OBJECTIVE:
To serve as a monitoring and evaluation tool for the implementation of corporate social responsibility activities carried out in Bandung City to ensure program accountability to stakeholders.
CHALLENGES:
This Social Return on Investment (SROI) Report for the Pulas Katumbiri (PUKA) Assistance Program in disability empowerment is created to support efforts to improve company performance and positive social impact, as well as a concrete step in measuring the social value generated from every effort and investment made by PT PLN (Persero) UID Jabar. SROI serves as an important foundation for us to understand the extent to which the implemented program contributes to improving community well-being, and we hope to gain a better understanding of the actual value generated, not only for those directly involved but also for the community as a whole.
SOLUTION:
Assistance for disability empowerment programs through the Pulas Katumbiri (Puka) business group, implemented by PT PLN (Persero) UID Jabar from June 2023 to October 2023, has had a positive impact on stakeholders. The SROI Ratio for the one-year program is 1:6.29, indicating that for every Rp. 1.00 invested by the company, there is a social return or social benefit of Rp. 6.29. This benefit value will increase by improving program accuracy, stakeholder engagement, and expanding the scope of activities.
IMPACT:
Results from interviews with stakeholders indicate that the assistance provided has impacted on increased income for the poor, increased income for people with disabilities, and enhanced branding for PLN in the areas surrounding the beneficiaries.
The economic benefits generated during the program up to the calculation period amount to Rp.1,714,285,714, equivalent to a social return on investment (ROI) for the period June 2023 – October 2023 is 6.29, indicating that for every Rp. 1.00 invested by the company, it generates a social return or social benefit of Rp. 6.29, with the program’s break-even point reached in the second month.
