PARTNER:
PT PLN (Persero) UPDL Bogor
INDUSTRY:
State Electricity Company
OBJECTIVE:
This program aims to provide education and hands-on experiences for children, particularly in the field of electricity.
CHALLENGE:
A lack of innovation in educational recreation often results in unequal access and limited enjoyable learning experiences for all children.
SOLUTION:
In commemoration of National Children’s Day, PT PLN (Persero) Corporate University organized the Srikandi Movement 2024 under the theme “Srikandi, Children’s Friend.” The event took place at the Electricity and New Energy Museum (MLEB), Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta, on July 23, 2024.
“Today, coinciding with National Children’s Day, we held the Srikandi Movement 2024 event, ‘Srikandi, Children’s Friend’, at the Electricity and New Energy Museum. As one of PLN’s operational units, the museum provides education in electricity and renewable energy to various segments of society in innovative, educational, and recreational ways. We offer ‘Museum Adventure,’ an engaging activity to develop children’s character traits such as independence, leadership, teamwork, creative thinking, communication, and more,” said Victry Ani Suhartono, Manager of the Electricity and New Energy Museum Unit at PLN.
“We hope that this event and the role of Srikandi will inspire children to pursue their dreams more passionately and help us all contribute to building Indonesia’s golden generation,” added Victry Ani Suhartono, who also serves as the Deputy of Srikandi PLN Corporate University.
The Srikandi, Children’s Friend Program began with the symbolic handover of school supplies and educational materials by Victry Ani Suhartono to Nurbaeti, Head of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) of Cipayung Village. The event was attended by 31 enthusiastic elementary school students from the empowered village of Cipayung Datar, supported by PLN UPDL Bogor. The children enjoyed learning and playing as they completed Srikandi’s challenges and successfully explored five educational tour zones within the Electricity and New Energy Museum. As an educational and recreational venue, the museum introduces children to various aspects of electricity and renewable energy through exciting and easily understandable methods, including interactive displays supported by modern technology.
The activities were not only beneficial for the children but also for their accompanying adults. They had the opportunity to learn from various educational activities, gain insights on how to better support children’s learning in creative and effective ways, and participate in educational games and interactive experiments. These experiences not only inspired the children but also gave fresh ideas to their guardians for daily learning support.
In line with this, Prasada Anggara Putra, Srikandi Advisor and part of the PLN Corporate University management, expressed similar hopes—that the program would be beneficial not only for the children but for all participants in enhancing the quality of education for the nation’s future generation. During the event, Fajar Budiman, Chairperson of YBM PLN Corporate University, also provided donations to underprivileged children, spreading joy during the month of Muharram.
