It also aims to improve the welfare of the Hurip Jaya village community and conserve coastal ecosystems and natural balance.
CHALLENGE:
Severe coastal erosion and damage to coastal habitats can be addressed by planting mangrove trees, which protect shorelines and provide important habitats for marine species.
SOLUTION:
PT PLN (Persero) Central Java Transmission Unit (UIT JBT), through the Bekasi Transmission Implementation Unit (UPT), offers a concrete solution to environmental and economic issues faced by coastal communities by implementing the Mangrove Revitalization and Utilization Assistance program in Hurip Jaya Village, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency.
This program is part of PLN’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) commitment to support the preservation of coastal ecosystems while encouraging local economic growth.
By providing seedlings, planting training, maintenance assistance, and processing mangrove products into economically valuable items such as bidada fruit syrup and dodol, PLN UIT JBT helps the community develop environmentally based MSME potential.
