INDOSAT SIGAP Together with Filantra Support Residents Affected by Floods and Landslides in Padang Pariaman

Objective: The INDOSAT SIGAP (Emergency Response Ready) Program for Flood and Landslide Disaster Relief in Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra, aims to assist affected communities by providing basic necessity aid during the emergency response period. Aid in the form of ready-to-eat meals, mineral water, sleeping equipment, hygiene kits, as well as Indosat and Three starter packs (SIM cards) were provided to support the fulfillment of food needs, maintain cleanliness and health, and facilitate smooth communication for affected residents in emergency conditions. This program also aims to lighten the burden on the community due to the flood and landslide disasters and strengthen early post-disaster management efforts through coordinated aid distribution with Filantra.
Challenges:
- Large-scale flood and landslide disasters hit Pariaman City and Padang Pariaman Regency from late November to early December 2025, occurring in many spots simultaneously, resulting in a wide affected area and an increasing number of people in need of assistance.
- Dozens of flood and landslide points cut off road access, damaged public facilities, and hampered resident mobility and logistics distribution to affected locations.
- Damage to residential areas, infrastructure, and extensive agricultural land exacerbated the community’s condition, especially for residents who lost their homes and sources of livelihood.
- This situation demanded fast, coordinated aid distribution capable of reaching evacuation areas amidst limited access and ongoing emergency conditions.
Solutions: To respond to the emergency conditions caused by floods and landslides affecting thousands of residents and damaging access and public facilities in Padang Pariaman, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, through the INDOSAT SIGAP Program, implemented the following steps:
- Distributing ready-to-eat meal assistance to affected communities to support the fulfillment of food needs during the emergency response period.
- Providing mineral water to help meet the drinking water needs of residents in affected locations.
- Providing blankets and sleeping mats as temporary comfort support for affected and displaced residents.
- Distributing hygiene kits to help maintain the cleanliness and health of the community amidst limited post-disaster facilities.
- Providing Indosat and Three starter packs as communication support for affected residents in emergency situations.
- Conducting aid distribution through coordination with local nagari (village) officials to ensure aid is delivered in an orderly manner and reaches the right targets.
Impact of Activities: The implementation of this program provided a real impact for the communities affected by floods and landslides in Padang Pariaman, including:
- Assisted in fulfilling the basic needs of affected communities, especially food and drinking water, during the emergency response period.
- Maintained the cleanliness and health of residents through the provision of hygiene kits amidst environmental conditions affected by flooding.
- Increased temporary comfort for affected residents through the assistance of blankets and sleeping mats.
- Assisted the communication needs of affected communities through the provision of Indosat and Three starter packs.
