PARTNERS:
PT BANK DKI
INDUSTRY:
National Banking
OBJECTIVES:
As a demonstration of their commitment to the environment, Bank DKI has implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Responsibility (CSR & ER) program involving tree planting on September 29, 2023.
CHALLENGE:
The lack of trees in urban areas poses a serious issue that directly impacts environmental quality and public health. Without sufficient green spaces, cities face rising temperatures due to the urban heat island effect, worsening air pollution, and reduced rainwater absorption, which increases the risk of flooding. Moreover, the absence of trees diminishes visual and psychological comfort for residents, even though trees are proven to reduce noise, absorb pollutants, and create healthy spaces for social interaction. Therefore, tree planting and the preservation of green areas must be prioritized in sustainable urban planning.
SOLUTIONS:
This program activity represents a significant step in Bank DKI’s contribution to the preservation and enhancement of the urban green environment of Jakarta, especially in North Jakarta. The event was attended by Andrica Futura, Head of CSR and Sponsorship Department; Muhamad Zuhdi, Assistant to the CSR and Sponsorship Department; Septian Ega Saputra, Assistant to the CSR and Sponsorship Department of Bank DKI; and Lionita Mustika Sari, representing the Jakarta Department of Parks and City Forestry.
“We thank Bank DKI for their assistance in providing trees through the planting activity on Jl. Boulevard Barat Raya, Kelapa Gading, in collaboration with the Jakarta Department of Parks and City Forestry. Our hope is that by planting these trees, we can improve Jakarta’s air quality, and we hope that Bank DKI’s CSR program continues to have a positive impact on the environment and air quality in Jakarta,” said Lionita Mustika Sari.
This tree-planting activity reflects Bank DKI’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. By providing Tecoma stans trees, Bank DKI strives to contribute to urban greening, improve air quality, and enhance the quality of life for the residents.
