From Jakarta to Sumatra, PT Nusantara Regas Strengthens Recovery for Flood Affected Communities
Partner : PT Nusantara Regas
Industry : Energy (Oil and Gas)
Objective : The Flood Disaster Relief Program implemented by PT Nusantara Regas in collaboration with Filantra aims to provide a rapid and precise response to disaster-affected communities in West Sumatra and Aceh. This program is focused on meeting basic needs through the provision of logistics and emergency requirements, enabling communities to survive during the emergency response period. In addition, this program supports the post-disaster recovery process by ensuring the availability of assistance that helps the community return to their daily activities in a safer and more decent manner. The presence of this assistance also aims to alleviate the social and psychological burdens of affected communities, while strengthening collaboration between the corporate sector and social institutions to create a broader and more sustainable impact.
Challenges :
- Wide disaster scale and high number of victims Flash floods and landslides struck Aceh, Sumatra Utara, and Sumatra Barat, with thousands of residents affected, so the need for assistance increased drastically in a short time.
- Infrastructure damage and regional isolation Many houses, public facilities, main roads, and bridges were heavily damaged or destroyed, so access to affected locations was hindered and aid distribution became difficult.
- Limited access to basic needs in evacuation points At evacuation points, residents experienced shortages of food, clean water, sanitation, and medicine, which increased the risk of health problems.
- Increased health risks Vulnerable post-flood environmental conditions triggered the emergence of diseases such as diarrhea, skin infections, and diseases caused by contaminated water, so the distribution of aid must pay attention to health aspects.
- Complex coordination and mobilization of aid The large number of affected areas and evacuation points demanded intensive coordination between field teams, the government, and social partners so that aid could be distributed on time and on target.
Solutions :
- Provision of Targeted Food and Logistics Assistance, PT Nusantara Regas through the Pertamina Peduli “Serving with All Our Heart” program distributed aid packages in the form of basic food (instant noodles, rice, UHT milk, biscuits, sardines, mineral water), hygiene kits (sanitary napkins, baby diapers), and medicines (cajuput oil). This assistance was focused on meeting the basic needs of flood-affected communities in West Sumatra and Aceh.
- Coordinated Distribution Through Air Delivery, Aid was consolidated at Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta, so that it could be immediately sent to affected areas, including regions that were difficult to reach due to damage to roads and bridges.
- Post-Disaster Recovery Support, This logistics distribution helped the community maintain decent living conditions, supported health and hygiene, and provided stability in daily activities during the evacuation period.
- Strengthening Solidarity and Collaboration, This program strengthened collaboration between the company and social institutions, as a form of concern that reinforced the social and humanitarian resilience of the affected community.
Program Impact :
- Availability of Daily Food for Affected Residents, Assistance of instant noodles, rice, UHT milk, biscuits, sardines, and mineral water ensured that families, children, and vulnerable groups continued to receive sufficient nutrition, so the basic needs of the community during evacuation were met.
- Maintained Hygiene and Health, Hygiene kits helped maintain personal cleanliness, especially for children and women, so the risk of diseases due to the post-disaster environment was reduced.
- Basic Community Health Support, Medicines such as cajuput oil provided relief for minor health problems, maintaining physical comfort during the emergency response period.
- Alleviating the Psychological Burden of the Community, The timely presence of aid provided a sense of security, reduced anxiety, and restored the spirit of residents in undergoing their daily lives.
- Strengthening Social Resilience and Solidarity, This program reinforced the sense of concern and cooperation between the company and the community, so that the recovery of post-disaster life becomes more sustainable.
SDGs Relevance :
- Relevance of the Program to SDGs 2: Zero Hunger
The Pertamina Peduli “Serving with All Our Heart” program implemented by PT Nusantara Regas in handling floods and landslides in Aceh, Sumatra Barat, and Sumatra Utara 2025 focuses on meeting food needs for affected communities. The distribution of instant noodles, rice, UHT milk, mineral water, sardines, and biscuits helps maintain food availability in evacuation centers, preventing food insecurity and reducing the risk of malnutrition during the emergency response period.
- Relevance of the Program to SDGs 3: Good Health and Well-Being
This program also ensures that sanitation, health, and basic protection needs are met. The distribution of medicines, sanitary napkins, and baby diapers helps maintain cleanliness, prevent infection, and protect vulnerable groups such as toddlers, the elderly, and people with disabilities. With the “Serving with All Our Heart” approach, this program not only provides logistics assistance, but also maintains the physical health and psychosocial well-being of the affected community.
Igniting Hope Together

In the midst of floods and landslides that leave loss in various regions of Sumatra, this assistance program is present to ensure that the basic needs of the affected community remain fulfilled, becoming a pillar so they can survive, rise, and reorganize post-disaster life in a safer and more dignified manner. Recovery requires more than just assistance; it requires concern that is united in collective action. Together with Filantra, it opens space for collaboration for partners and stakeholders to take a role in humanitarian response, expanding the reach of aid, and reigniting hope for the affected people of Sumatra.
