Industry: Fintech Industry / Electronic Payment Systems
Objective: The implementation of the Disaster Response Collaboration with Indosat by PT Artajasa Pembayaran Elektronis, in partnership with Filantra, aims to provide access to clean water and safe drinking water for communities affected by floods and landslides in the regions of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra in 2025. This activity also aims to support the operations of the Indosat SIGAP Public Kitchen by providing adequate water for food processing for disaster survivors. Through this program, it is expected that the basic needs of the community during the emergency response period can be met, while strengthening humanitarian collaboration between PT Artajasa Pembayaran Elektronis, Filantra, and Indosat in disaster management efforts and supporting the building of community resilience in facing various future emergency situations.
Challenges:
In the implementation of the Disaster Response Collaboration program with Indosat, several challenges were encountered on the ground, particularly related to post-disaster conditions and limited access for affected communities. These challenges include:
- Limited access to affected areas due to infrastructure damaged by flash floods and landslides, which complicated the aid distribution process.
- Limited availability of clean water at affected locations, which is a primary need for both the community and to support public kitchen operations.
- High community needs during the emergency response period, especially regarding the fulfillment of food and safe drinking water.
- Emergency conditions that required rapid response and high-level coordination to ensure aid could be distributed timely and accurately to the surviving communities.
Solution:
In response to various challenges during the disaster emergency response period, PT Artajasa Pembayaran Elektronis together with Filantra, through the Disaster Response Collaboration Program with Indosat, presented several solutions to help meet the basic needs of the affected community, including:
- Provision of clean water in large quantities to support the operational needs of the Indosat SIGAP Public Kitchen at disaster-affected locations.
- Distribution of safe drinking water in the form of bottled/cup mineral water to ensure that the community and public kitchen volunteers have access to safe drinking water.
- Distribution of clean water via water tank trucks to affected locations, allowing the water to be directly utilized by the public kitchen and the surrounding community.
- Coordinated distribution of aid across four affected points, namely in Aceh Tamiang, Agam Regency, Padang City, and Bireuen Regency, to ensure that the aid reached the areas in need more evenly.
Program Impact:
The implementation of the Disaster Response Collaboration program with Indosat has provided several positive impacts for the disaster management process and the affected communities, including:
- Fulfillment of clean water needs for public kitchen operations, ensuring that the process of providing food for affected communities could run smoothly during the emergency response period.
- Increased community access to safe drinking water, which is a vital basic need in post-disaster conditions.
- Supporting the smooth distribution of food for survivors, as public kitchens had sufficient water availability for cooking and food processing activities.
- The establishment of humanitarian collaboration between PT Artajasa Pembayaran Elektronis, Filantra, and Indosat in providing a rapid response to disaster situations in the Aceh and Sumatra regions.
SDGs Relevance:
- SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being Through the provision of clean water and safe drinking water, this program supports efforts to maintain the health of disaster-affected communities and helps ensure that health-related basic needs are met during the emergency response period.
- SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation This program supports increased access to clean water for disaster-affected communities and sustains the water needs for public kitchen operations, thereby helping to maintain cleanliness and supporting the fulfillment of basic sanitation needs during the post-disaster recovery period.
