Mitra: PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok
Industry: Services and Logistics
Objective:
To improve the community’s economy and reduce unemployment by creating new entrepreneurs aimed at 4 young people who want to start a business but do not have enough capital to create new entrepreneurs from the general public.
Challenge:
The high unemployment rate, especially among the productive age group, is a serious challenge that requires innovative solutions. Many potential individuals in Indonesia have not received decent employment opportunities or do not have the provisions to start their own businesses. The main challenge lies in the limited access to training, capital, and supporting ecosystems that encourage the growth of independent entrepreneurs.
Solution:
To address the challenges related to high unemployment rates and limited decent job opportunities, PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok together with Filantra provides a concrete solution called the PTP Academy Program in creating quality MSME actors.
The first step taken by the PTP Academy program is to do Survey Need Assessment activities to find potential beneficiaries. Assessment This is done to select potential beneficiaries to meet the criteria, one of the criteria is being interested in starting a business but not having capital. The second step taken is Entrepreneurial Management Training, this activity contains training in juice processing and UMKM management, with a series of training such as how to choose good fruit and ingredients to make juice, basic management to start a business, how to process fruit and develop fruit, SOP for serving consumers, how to promote products (online & offline), improve service skills, and closed with training on how to manage finances or bookkeeping. Meanwhile, UMKM management and product processing training is carried out for 4 days to prepare participants for practice.
The next or third step taken to make things run smoothly launching MSMEs are with set up business land, the activities carried out are as follows:
• Location Survey
• 3D Layout Design
• Neon Box Design Printing
• Neon Box Installation
• Set Up Tenan

After setting up the business land has been successfully projected, the next step is to carry out the program training and business assistance provided so that beneficiaries can run their MSME businesses in a more focused and optimal manner. With the assistance of a mentor in each program, participants will be prepared with all the knowledge they need to run MSMEs, such as theory, practice, and other supporting training carried out for 6 months.
And the last step to open the inauguration of this UMKM is to hold the launching event of the PTP Academy program. In this program launching activity participants prepared 100 cups of juice and 50 cups of fruit salad to be distributed to Pelindo employees. In the end, the PTP Academy officially created UMKM actors who were ready and qualified to improve the community’s economy and reduce unemployment by creating new entrepreneurs.
Impact:
This program is intended for young people who want to start a business but do not have enough capital. So PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok helps facilitate and provide knowledge and experience in running a business. The activities carried out are training, business land setup, training/work practice, and business assistance.
With this activity, the beneficiaries of the PTP Academy program can improve their welfare with the income they earn and can reduce the unemployment rate in Indonesia and can produce new successful entrepreneurs in the future with the training they have received. Thus, the PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Academy Program is in line with the objectives sustainable development or Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) especially the goals SDGs-8 in order to create prosperity and a good economy in Indonesia.
The PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Academy Program is a real form of contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. Through structured training and empowerment, this program encourages skills improvement, opens business opportunities, and contributes to reducing unemployment rates in Indonesia.
